The Mediation and Complaints-Handling Institution deals with cases related to non-compliance of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The institution ensures that Danish enterprises which operate globally, get a predictable and accountable case-handling procedure regarding disputes related to non-compliance of the OECD Guidelines.
The institution must also ensure that anyone who complain can have a complaint handled. If the parties do not manage to solve the dispute themselves, the institution will through mediation promote a constructive dialog between the parties. The Institution carries out an actual investigation if mediation fails to resolve the matter or if the parties reject the offer for mediation. On the basis of the investigation, the Institution publishes a statement
The Mediation and Complains-Handling Institution is also responsible for raising awareness of what responsible business conduct entails and to promote the implementation and compliance of the guidelines among Danish enterprises, public authorities and organisations.
The institution can assist with general guidance on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. However, due to potential issues concerning impartiality, the institution is not able to provide counseling related to specific cases.
